On September 16-21, 2018 an internship on the topic ‘Information technologies in the context of intercultural competence’ was organized by the University of De Montfort, Leicester, United Kingdom (DMU) for Belarusian partners of the Erasmus+ project “Innovative ICT Education for Socio-Economic Development”.
The purpose of the internship was to develop the intercultural competence of teachers who prepare and implement courses and train IT specialists. During the internship, the participants had the opportunity to develop the intercultural competence of experiential learning that takes place in a multicultural environment.
The internship focused on DMU approaches: flipped class; Bloom's taxonomy; innovative assessment of learning outcomes; course development and teaching methods; pedagogical support; demonstration of good practice in teaching and learning. Delegates’ reflection was very extensive and positive. Special attention was paid to teaching methods, case studies, teamwork, and especially the experience of DMU teachers.
During the internship excursions to the Faculty of Computer Science and its laboratories were conducted, the participants visited the library and training support center of the University of De Montfort, where they studied the practical aspects of creating a learning environment to improve the quality of knowledge of specialists in order to fulfill the needs of the labor market.
