About Department

Department of Information Systems and Production Automation has been operating since 1967. Its first name was «Electrical Engineering and Automation». The founder of the department is Alexandr Sutormin, Associate Professor.

In 1989, a new specialty, Automation of Technological Processes and Entrerprises, was opened at the Department. The name of the department was changed to "Automation of Technological Processes and Entrerprises". In 1989, the first intake of students in this specialty for full-time studies was carried out. In 2016, the name of the department was changed to "Information systems and automation of production".

Today the department of Information Systems and Production Automation have all conditions for training of specialists and scientific work. The laboratories of the department are equipped with modern educational equipment: stands for the automation of technological processes, automated measuring complex. There are three computer classes equipped with modern personal computers at the department. Currently, the department has 3 doctors of technical sciences, 7 candidates of science and associate professors, 8 senior teachers, 3 assistants, head of the laboratory, 3 laboratory technicians, 2 software engineers. The department is annually recruiting for graduate and postgraduate studies.

The main scientific directions of the department: the development of methods and means of automation of technological processes and the evaluation of the quality of products in light industry.

  1. AUTOMATION OF TECHNOLOGICAL PROCESSES AND ENTERPRISES
    qualification: automation engineer
    specialisation: 1-53 01 01-05 «Automation of Technological Processes and Entrerprises»
    Automation is modern industry direction, which main task is to reduce the degree of human participation in manufactury process through the using of instrumentation and software automatics.

    Objects of professional activity: enterprises of light industry and other industries, metrological laboratory services, instrumentation and automation (instrumentation), the service control systems (ACS), design, research and development, installation, commissioning, maintenance, production and sales, customer service of financial institutions, software development companies, educational institutions.

  2. INFORMATION SYSTEMS AND TECHNOLOGIES
    qualification: software engineer
    specialisation: 1-40 05 01-01 «Information Systems and Technologies» (in design and manufacturing)
    Information technology is a set of methods and techniques of information processing in all human activities using means of communication, graphic arts, computer technology and software.

    Objects of professional activity: enterprises of different industries using and developing information systems and computer networks, as well as carrying out their technical support and service.

Since 1995 the department has realized post graduate training on speciality 1 – 53 80 01 «Automation and industrial process and production management» (light industry). Since 2007 the department has realized master degree training on this speciality.
